A Coach is like a Chef
The athlete is the “entree” being prepared and the coach has a list of “ingredients” that he can put together to achieve the desired outcome. A “cup” of base mileage, a “pinch” of VO2 max, and a “dash” of threshold work can produce a “gourmet” meal.
